In a significant initiative aimed at nurturing emotional resilience among young women, the Rotary Club of Bhavnagar Vibrant organised a special session on Emotional Intelligence (EI) for around 200 girl students at Maharani Shree Nandkuvarba Mahila College on Wednesday.
The interactive programme focused on helping students understand, manage and channel their emotions positively, equipping them with vital life skills essential for academic excellence, mental well-being and personal growth.
Understanding Emotions, Building Inner Strength
The session was conducted by Charmee Goswami, an International Career Counsellor, Emotional Intelligence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Fitness Advisor and Dance Master, who guided students through practical tools to recognise emotions, build self-awareness and maintain emotional balance.
“Emotional intelligence is not about suppressing feelings, but understanding them and responding wisely. When young girls learn to manage stress, communicate clearly and stay emotionally balanced, they unlock their true potential,” Goswami told the students.

She highlighted the role of empathy, effective communication and emotional regulation in managing friendships, academic pressure and life challenges with confidence and clarity.
Learning Through Laughter and Engagement
Adding a practical and joyful dimension to the session, a laughter activity was conducted, filling the auditorium with energy and enthusiasm. Students actively participated and experienced first-hand how laughter can instantly reduce stress and enhance emotional well-being.
“Simple practices like laughter, mindful breathing and self-reflection can make a powerful difference in how students cope with pressure and stay focused on their goals,” Goswami explained during the interactive segment.
Rotary’s Commitment to Holistic Development
Addressing the gathering, Club President Namrita Chadha emphasised the importance of emotional intelligence in shaping confident and capable women.

“Academic success alone is not enough. Emotional strength, self-belief and clarity of thought are equally important for young girls to thrive in today’s competitive world. Through such sessions, we aim to empower students to face life with confidence and compassion,” Chadha said.
Club Secretary Sunita Shah and members Krishna Shah and Kruti Shah were also present and encouraged students to apply emotional intelligence in their everyday lives, both inside and outside the classroom.
The session concluded on an uplifting and motivational note, leaving students with a powerful takeaway—that the ability to shape one’s future begins with understanding one’s emotions, one feeling at a time.
