In a heartwarming celebration of grassroots football, the ADFA Blue Cubs League 2026—organised by the Ahmedabad District Football Association in association with the Gujarat State Football Association and All India Football Federation—concluded on April 5 after a month-long spectacle that showcased the city’s youngest footballing talent.

Played in an exciting 5-a-side Under-8 format, the league saw 12 teams compete across 96 matches, producing a staggering 376 goals, underlining both the enthusiasm and attacking flair of budding footballers.

Kahaani FC turns dream into reality

Emerging as champions, Kahaani FC delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, capturing the imagination of parents, coaches, and fans alike.

The winning squad featured Jevin Parekh, Yuvan Shah, Arnav Basu, Darsh Nagori, Ansh Trivedi, Keyansh Roy, Aviraj Gosain, Preesha Johri, Shaikh Hamza, including Inaaya, a student of Apollo International School.

Their journey from group stages to the title was marked by teamwork, discipline, and fearless play—hallmarks of future champions in the making.

A league that builds more than players

The Blue Cubs initiative, aligned with AIFF’s grassroots vision, is designed to nurture football at the foundational level, focusing on fun, participation, and skill development rather than just results.

Coaches and organisers highlighted that such leagues play a crucial role in building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children.

“This platform is not just about winning, it’s about learning, enjoying the game, and building a lifelong love for football,” said a senior ADFA official.

Inaaya & Co inspire the next generation

Among the standout young talents, Inaaya drew special attention for her spirited performances, symbolising the growing inclusivity and encouragement for girls in football at an early age.

Her participation alongside teammates reflects a positive shift towards equal opportunity in sports, inspiring more young girls to take to the field.

“Seeing such young children play with passion and joy is the biggest success of this league,” an organiser remarked, emphasising the league’s broader impact.

As the curtains fall on the 2026 edition, the ADFA Blue Cubs League has once again reinforced that India’s football future lies in its playgrounds, where tiny boots chase big dreams—one goal at a time.
