BADARWAS, MADHYA PRADESH, APR 26
In a decisive push to transform rural livelihoods, the Adani Foundation has unveiled a sprawling Adani Vikas Kendra in Badarwas, bringing structured employment opportunities to women closer to home and reinforcing its Swabhimaan mission of economic empowerment.

At the heart of this initiative is the vision of Priti Adani, whose Swabhimaan programme seeks to connect one million women across India with sustainable livelihoods by linking skill development directly to market-driven work opportunities.

Spread across an expansive 48,000 square feet, the centre combines training with real-time production. Equipped with 600 modern sewing machines, it is poised to become a hub where skills translate into steady incomes. As operations scale, nearly 1,500 women are expected to secure consistent earnings, strengthening household finances and fostering long-term self-reliance.

The facility was inaugurated by Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Member of Parliament from Guna. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with over 5,000 women from surrounding villages gathering—an emphatic signal of the demand for meaningful livelihood opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, Scindia said, “What we are witnessing in Badarwas is the power of aspiration taking shape. I congratulate Shri Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, and the Adani Foundation for creating a platform where skills can reach global markets. One can see the resolve in the eyes of my beloved didis. Their hopes and aspirations are finding expression through meaningful livelihoods. This centre is a true engine of empowerment, and over the next five years, I am confident that products from Badarwas will resonate across the country and beyond.”

Echoing this vision, Adani Foundation CEO Dr. Abhishek Lakhtakia stated, “Guided by our Chairperson Dr. Priti Adani’s belief that empowering women begins with the ability to earn with dignity, Swabhimaan focuses on turning skills into sustained income. By connecting women to real work and markets, we are enabling them to build financial independence and play a stronger role in their households and communities.”

Beyond income generation, the initiative is expected to reduce dependence on irregular informal work, curb migration pressures, and deepen women’s participation in local economies. By investing in infrastructure, skill-building and market access, the Foundation is crafting a sustainable ecosystem where empowerment is not episodic—but enduring.

As the Adani Foundation approaches its 30th anniversary on August 11, this milestone in Badarwas stands as a testament to three decades of commitment to inclusive growth—now powered by the aspirations of thousands of women ready to stitch their own success stories.
