The spirit of “Dak Sewa, Jan Sewa” took centre stage in Ahmedabad as India Post honoured more than 100 postal officials for their exemplary service and outstanding achievements across the North Gujarat Region during a grand felicitation ceremony and review meeting for the financial year 2025-26.
Addressing Divisional and Sub-Divisional Heads during the event held on May 19, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region Krishna Kumar Yadav underscored the transformative role being played by India Post in delivering reliable services to the remotest corners of the country.
He said the Department of Posts, guided by its visionary approach and people-centric work culture, continues to emerge as one of the most trusted public institutions by ensuring accessible, secure and efficient services to every citizen.
India Post Driving Digital Inclusion to the Last Mile
Highlighting the expanding role of India Post in modern India, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said the organisation remains fully committed to advancing the goals of Digital India and financial inclusion by reaching underserved rural and remote communities.
He emphasised that postal services today go far beyond mail delivery and are playing a major role in banking access, Aadhaar-enabled services, insurance outreach and citizen-centric digital transactions.
A special Gujarati-language booklet detailing various postal services and their benefits was also released during the function by Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav.
Postal Officials Recognised for Outstanding Performance
Among the top performers honoured during the ceremony was Chirag Mehta, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Ahmedabad City Division, who received recognition for achieving the highest overall revenue and growth percentage, top Post Office Savings Bank net addition, highest growth in Rural Postal Life Insurance, outstanding parcel revenue performance, maximum Aadhaar transactions and exceptional D+0 delivery performance in Speed Post and parcel services.
- Piyush Rajak, Senior Superintendent of RMS, Ahmedabad Division, was felicitated for recording the highest growth percentage in citizen-centric services.
- Shishir Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Gandhinagar Division, was recognised for achieving the highest growth in mail operations and securing third position in the Post Office Savings Bank net addition category.
- Manjulaben Patel was felicitated for securing second position in the Post Office Savings Bank net addition category in Sabarkantha Division.
- At Ahmedabad General Post Office, Alpesh Shah earned honours for achieving the highest overall revenue achievement percentage and highest parcel revenue performance.
- Harshad Parmar was recognised for registering the highest growth percentage in Post Office Savings Bank and Postal Life Insurance categories, along with the highest revenue achievement percentage in Rural Postal Life Insurance.
- Rajendrapuri Goswami received accolades for achieving the highest revenue performance in Postal Life Insurance, mail operations and international mail services in Banaskantha Division.
- Siraj Mansuri was honoured for recording the highest revenue achievement percentage in the Post Office Savings Bank category in Mahesana Division.
- P. J. Solanki and D M Rathod were recognised as Top Performers under the ‘Postal Warrior’ campaign for generating exceptional business growth.
Focus on Future Growth and Service Excellence
During the review meeting, divisional heads from various regions presented detailed reports on operational achievements, business growth and citizen service initiatives before Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav.
Discussions focused on achieving future-ready targets, accelerating business growth and improving service efficiency across all postal divisions.
Motivating officers and staff members, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav urged employees to continue working with dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to achieve the targets set for the current financial year while strengthening the department’s public service mission.
