AHMEDABAD, JUNE 23
In an age dominated by curated perfection and social media filters, Ahmedabad recently witnessed a refreshing celebration of authenticity, heritage and feminine strength as Wedding Avenue hosted ‘Celebrating Her’ at The Belvedere Golf & Country Club, Adani Shantigram.
Far more than a conventional exhibition, the event emerged as a vibrant confluence of craftsmanship, culture, entrepreneurship and inspiring personal journeys. Aptly positioned as ‘An Event for Real Women, By Real Women’, the initiative brought together women entrepreneurs, artisans, professionals, homemakers, creators and families under one roof to celebrate individuality and meaningful connections.

At its core, Celebrating Her was designed as a platform where stories mattered as much as style. The evening seamlessly blended handcrafted artistry with lived experiences, creating an atmosphere that resonated with Ahmedabad’s growing appreciation for heritage-driven and community-centric experiences.
The vision behind the event draws strength from the textile legacy of Rashmikant Shah, Founder of Wedding Avenue, whose four decades of experience in the fabric and saree industry have helped build Wedding Avenue and its designer label ALIEN’S ZUBAA into respected names synonymous with curated saree collections, artisan partnerships and the preservation of India’s rich textile traditions.
Conceptualised by Dr. Kiran Jha, CEO of Wedding Avenue and a Relationship and Communication Clarity Coach, the event reflected themes of confidence, self-expression and identity. Through thoughtfully curated experiences, participants were encouraged to celebrate not only their achievements but also their personal journeys.
One of the evening’s biggest attractions was its exquisite showcase of handcrafted sarees representing India’s diverse textile heritage. Guests admired collections featuring silk, chanderi, mashru silk, cotton-linen, banarasi tissue and tussar fabrics, enriched by traditional artistic techniques such as Kantha stitching, Kalamkari, Pichwai art, zari craftsmanship, appliqué work and eco-printing.

Each drape carried a story of craftsmanship, culture and generations of artistic excellence, captivating attendees who appreciated both the beauty of the garments and the narratives woven into every thread.
The emotional high point of the event came with ‘A Ramp for Real Women’, a distinctive showcase that replaced professional models with women from everyday walks of life. The runway became a powerful stage for confidence, authenticity and self-belief as participants proudly embraced their identities and celebrated their uniqueness.
The initiative also provided visibility to women-led businesses while encouraging conversations around collaboration, mentorship and community support. By fostering connections among entrepreneurs, creators and professionals, the event reinforced the importance of collective growth and empowerment.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Kiran Jha said: “Celebrating Her was created as a space where women could simply show up as themselves — through their stories, creativity, work, and individuality. The most meaningful part of the evening was witnessing women encourage and celebrate one another so wholeheartedly.”
With its seamless blend of handcrafted artistry, cultural storytelling and contemporary womanhood, Celebrating Her demonstrated how meaningful experiences can create lasting impact. More than an event, it became a tribute to the resilience, creativity and grace of women who continue to shape communities, businesses and traditions while staying true to themselves.
In doing so, Wedding Avenue delivered a powerful reminder that the most inspiring stories are often those lived by ordinary women with extraordinary spirit.
