A transformative chapter in the growth story of Kutch and Gujarat unfolded on Tuesday as Adani Mundra Airport commenced its inaugural scheduled commercial flight operations, setting the stage for Mundra’s emergence as one of India’s most strategically integrated logistics, trade and business gateways.

The launch marks far more than the addition of a new air service. It represents the creation of a powerful multimodal ecosystem where aviation, ports, logistics, manufacturing and commerce converge to accelerate economic growth and strengthen India’s connectivity landscape.

In partnership with Star Air, Adani Mundra Airport has launched scheduled flight services connecting Mumbai and Goa, while simultaneously opening air links to Bengaluru, Surat, Hindon, Belagavi, Kolhapur and Nanded, creating a robust network that significantly enhances accessibility to the Kutch region.

The new connectivity is expected to dramatically reduce travel time for business leaders, exporters, logistics operators, investors and tourists, creating what industry observers describe as an “express corridor” for commerce and mobility.

Strategically located alongside India’s largest commercial port and the country’s largest notified operational multi-product Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Mundra Airport is uniquely positioned to become a critical enabler of trade and industrial expansion.

The airport provides the crucial last-mile air connectivity that complements the massive cargo and logistics ecosystem already operating through Mundra Port, allowing businesses to move people, products and opportunities faster than ever before.

Built on the Adani Group’s infrastructure development expertise, the airport features a 1,900-metre runway capable of handling a broad spectrum of passenger and cargo aircraft.

The state-of-the-art terminal has been designed to offer world-class passenger convenience through spacious parking facilities, multiple check-in counters, passenger lounges, a food court, dedicated drop-off zones and comprehensive accessibility features, including wheelchair assistance.

The integration of aviation infrastructure with port operations is expected to generate powerful synergies, creating a seamless supply-chain ecosystem that can support exporters, manufacturers, traders and investors operating in and around the Mundra region.

Industry experts believe the airport’s launch could significantly enhance Kutch’s attractiveness as an investment destination by improving executive mobility, reducing travel bottlenecks and strengthening access to key commercial centres across the country.

The initiative also reflects the Adani Group’s larger vision of building interconnected infrastructure assets that generate multiplier effects across sectors and regions.

With the addition of Mundra Airport, the Group further strengthens its aviation footprint, complementing its management of major airports in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru and Guwahati.

Beyond aviation, the development is expected to act as a catalyst for tourism, hospitality, manufacturing, warehousing and ancillary industries throughout Kutch, one of India’s fastest-growing economic regions.

As the first scheduled flights take to the skies, Mundra is no longer merely India’s largest private port—it is rapidly evolving into a fully integrated, multi-modal gateway where sea, air, road and industrial infrastructure converge to drive the next wave of economic growth.

The take-off of Adani Mundra Airport signals the beginning of a new era—one where Kutch is poised to become a nationally significant hub for trade, logistics, investment and connectivity.
