A speeding train. Ruthless hijackers. Terrified passengers. One lone man standing between life and catastrophe. That gripping premise has propelled ‘Train’, the latest collaboration between visionary filmmaker Mysskin and National Award-winning actor Vijay Sethupathi, into the spotlight after its adrenaline-charged teaser dropped on Sunday, instantly emerging as one of the most talked-about Tamil cinema releases of the year.

- Vijay Sethupathi returns in one of his most intense avatars as Mysskin promises another edge-of-the-seat masterpiece
- Shruti Haasan, Nasser, Narain, KS Ravikumar and an ensemble cast power V Creations’ ambitious action thriller
- Narain’s police officer role rekindles speculation over a possible Mysskin Cinematic Universe
- Producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu says, “The journey begins” as fans hail one of 2026’s most awaited Tamil releases
Released by veteran producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu of V Creations, the tightly packed 43-second teaser offers no lengthy dialogues or elaborate exposition. Instead, it relies on razor-sharp visuals, mounting tension and Mysskin’s trademark psychological storytelling to create an atmosphere of impending doom aboard a runaway train that refuses to stop at scheduled stations.
Sharing the teaser on social media, Thanu wrote: “The journey begins! Experience the high-octane #Train teaser now.”
The teaser introduces a train apparently seized by a ruthless group whose motives remain shrouded in mystery. As panic engulfs passengers, Vijay Sethupathi appears as the lone figure determined to confront the heavily prepared antagonists, hinting at an emotionally charged battle where survival itself becomes the destination.
Known for cult thrillers such as Anjaathey, Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum and Pisasu, Mysskin once again appears to blend psychological tension with action, reinforcing his reputation for crafting suspense-driven cinema that thrives on atmosphere rather than spectacle alone.
The excitement surrounding Train has been building since Vijay Sethupathi’s birthday last year, when the makers unveiled an exclusive behind-the-scenes video offering glimpses of the actor listening to Mysskin’s narration, walking through train compartments and dubbing for emotionally intense sequences.
Marking the occasion then, Thanu had posted in Tamil: “To younger brother Vijay Sethupathi, may your birthday be a day for the poor to rise. May you live like the good language Tamil that is praised by all four landscapes. To make this day even more special, here is a small teaser from Train.”
The film boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Shruti Haasan, Nasser, Yugi Sethu, Narain, KS Ravikumar, Sampath Raj, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand and Preethy Karan, adding considerable depth to what already promises to be one of Tamil cinema’s biggest ensemble thrillers.
Acclaimed cinematographer Fowzia Fathima handles the visuals, while Mysskin himself has composed the film’s music, a combination expected to amplify the film’s dark, immersive narrative style.
The teaser has also revived speculation about a possible Mysskin Cinematic Universe after actor Narain—who portrays a police officer in Train—had earlier shared photographs from the sets. Fans quickly drew parallels with his memorable police officer role in Anjaathey, fuelling theories that the filmmaker may be creating interconnected narratives. The makers, however, have not officially confirmed any such plans.
With Vijay Sethupathi continuing his remarkable run of genre-defining performances and Mysskin returning to the territory where he has consistently excelled, Train has rapidly positioned itself among the most eagerly awaited Tamil releases of 2026.
If the teaser is any indication, audiences are not merely boarding another action film—they are preparing for a cinematic ride where every compartment hides a secret, every mile raises the stakes, and every passing second could decide the fate of everyone on board.
