What if every monsoon shower in Ahmedabad could help grow not just a sapling, but a shared promise for a greener tomorrow? Giving this powerful idea roots, Chiripal Group has launched the fifth edition of its Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha campaign with an ambitious mission to distribute and facilitate the plantation of 50,000 saplings across Ahmedabad.
The citywide green drive has already taken off with 2,000 saplings distributed in just two days at the Sabarmati Riverfront and Law Garden, inviting citizens to make the most of the monsoon season by bringing more greenery into their homes, neighbourhoods and public spaces.
The Ahmedabad-headquartered textile-led diversified conglomerate distributed 1,000 saplings at the Sabarmati Riverfront on July 20 and another 1,000 saplings at Law Garden on July 21. The campaign will continue across the city through the month, transforming sapling distribution into a people-powered movement for a greener Ahmedabad.
Under the first phase of the drive, 7,000 saplings will be distributed across seven identified locations, with nearly 1,000 citizens expected to be reached at each location.
The upcoming distribution schedule includes Parimal Garden on July 22, Oxygen Park on Sindhu Bhavan Road on July 23, Shanti Asiatic School in Shela on July 24, AUDA Garden in Prahlad Nagar on July 25 and Prahlad Nagar on July 26.
The initiative goes beyond simply handing out saplings. It seeks to inspire citizens to take ownership of the city’s green future by planting, nurturing and protecting trees. Employees, volunteers, educational institutions and residents are being encouraged to join plantation activities and become partners in expanding Ahmedabad’s green cover.

Launched in 2022, Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha has already facilitated the plantation of 2 lakh trees during its first four editions. With another 50,000 saplings targeted during the fifth edition, the campaign’s cumulative green footprint is expected to reach 2.5 lakh trees.
As Ahmedabad experiences the transformative magic of the monsoon, the campaign sends home a simple but powerful message: a greener city cannot be created by a few green warriors alone—it needs the participation of every citizen.
From the Riverfront to gardens, schools and neighbourhoods, the Chiripal Mirchi Green Yodha campaign is seeking to make tree plantation a shared civic responsibility.
