What if every step you take this Independence Day could help someone else see the world more clearly? Lenskart is turning that simple idea into a nationwide movement with ‘Drishti Ki Daud’—Run for Vision, a virtual fitness-for-good initiative that seeks to transform everyday walking and running into a collective contribution towards better access to vision care.
Walk for Fitness, Run for a Bigger Purpose
Scheduled for August 15 and 16, the Independence Day weekend campaign invites Indians to participate through the Lenskart app. Participants who clock a minimum of 20,000 steps can trigger a donation of prescription glasses through the Lenskart Foundation, with the number of pairs rising with every additional milestone.
Lenskart says the initiative is aimed at addressing the persistent gap in access to vision care, with more than 350 million Indians unable to afford vision care, according to the company.
Every Step Unlocks Another Pair of Glasses
The campaign has built a simple step-to-impact mechanism: 20,000 steps unlock one pair of glasses; 30,000 steps unlock two; 40,000 steps unlock three; and 50,000 steps unlock four pairs.
Participants can join by opening the Lenskart app, tapping the ‘Drishti Ki Daud’ banner on the home page and syncing their activity with a health app as instructed.
Those completing the challenge can also download a personalised digital finisher frame for social-media sharing, while their names will be permanently credited on the Lenskart Foundation page—turning individual participation into a visible record of collective impact.
From ‘Run for Frame’ to a Vision-Led Movement
Peyush Bansal, CEO & Founder, Lenskart, said: “The future of eye care in India has to be about greater awareness and wider access to vision care. Through Lenskart Foundation, our ambition is to build a more vision-aware India where quality care is within reach for everyone.”
He added: “‘Drishti Ki Daud’ takes this ambition into a new space by turning an everyday habit into a shared act of contribution. We are counting on people across India to come together and show how everyday actions, when multiplied by collective participation, can create meaningful change at scale.”
The campaign builds on Lenskart’s earlier ‘Run for Frame’ movement, which brought close to one million participants across India, Thailand and Singapore together through the Lenskart app.
With ‘Drishti Ki Daud’, Lenskart Foundation is seeking to push the idea beyond eyewear—using the Independence Day spirit to connect personal fitness, collective participation and the larger social mission of making vision care more accessible.
