  • ₹500-crore dairy infrastructure drive to strengthen livestock economy and rural incomes
  • ₹274-crore Saras Dairy plants commissioned in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand
  • Alwar milk-processing plant to start with 3 lakh litres daily capacity, scale up to 5 lakh litres
  • ₹152 crore crop-insurance payout and ₹667 crore Kisan Samman Nidhi transferred to farmers
  • Zero-interest farm loans, new warehouses and cooperative expansion power Rajasthan’s rural growth agenda

Addressing a gathering in Alwar, Shah said the transformation of rural Rajasthan must be driven by four pillars — youth, the poor, farmers and women — if India is to realise the vision of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.

“If India is to become a fully developed nation by 2047, we must empower four pillars—youth, the poor, farmers and women. The Modi government is working with this resolve.”

He highlighted the convergence of multiple initiatives on a single platform — Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers, ₹500-crore dairy infrastructure for cattle rearers, employment opportunities for youth and Saras Dairy expansion for women.

“Today, from a single platform, our government has provided Kisan Samman Nidhi to farmers, a ₹500-crore dairy infrastructure initiative for cattle rearers, jobs for the youth, and expansion of Saras Dairy for the benefit of mothers and sisters.”

Dairy becomes rural growth engine

The dairy sector emerged as a major theme of Shah’s address, with the Centre and Rajasthan Government seeking to turn cooperative dairies into engines of rural prosperity.

The foundation stone was laid for a 3-lakh-litre-per-day milk-processing plant in Alwar, with plans to raise its capacity to 5 lakh litres per day.

Shah said the larger capacity would have a direct impact on the incomes of livestock rearers as milk procurement expands and payments reach their bank accounts.

“Cooperative dairies have the potential to transform the rural economy and open new doors of opportunity for the next generation.”

He added: “Through Saras Dairy, the dairy farmers of Rajasthan will receive payment for their milk within just seven days.”

Shah said the Government’s objective was to take high milk-yielding breeds of cows and buffaloes to households across Rajasthan, including Alwar, while livestock insurance would provide additional protection to rural families.

He also pointed to the potential for milk-product exports, suggesting that stronger dairy infrastructure could connect Rajasthan’s livestock economy with wider domestic and international markets.

Four Saras plants add muscle to dairy network

Alongside the Alwar project, four Saras Dairy plants costing ₹274 crore were commissioned in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand.

Shah said the expansion of cooperative dairies would not only strengthen milk procurement and processing but also create new opportunities for future generations.

“Cooperative dairies have the power to transform the rural economy, Prime Minister Modi is committed to ensuring that not a single village remains untouched by the cooperative movement.”

The initiatives underline the Government’s larger “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” approach, with cooperatives being positioned as instruments for improving farm incomes, strengthening rural infrastructure and widening access to credit and markets.

₹667 crore Kisan Samman Nidhi reaches 67 lakh farmers

The farmer-support push extended beyond dairy.

More than ₹667 crore under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi was disbursed to 67 lakh farmers, at the rate of ₹1,000 per farmer. Another ₹152 crore under the Chief Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme was transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Four district cooperative banks were also launched in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana-Kuchaman and Pratapgarh, with farmers set to receive loans at zero per cent interest through these institutions.

The Government also laid foundation stones and performed Bhoomi Pujan for 954 works costing ₹6,453 crore.

Shah said the scale of the day’s development activity was unprecedented, with projects worth ₹5,500 crore launched in Chittorgarh earlier in the day and another ₹6,453 crore unveiled in Alwar.

“Thus, Bhoomi Pujan for development works worth ₹11,953 crore has been performed in a single day today.”

‘Not a single year without a major farm initiative’

Shah presented a year-by-year sequence of major agricultural and farmer-focused initiatives launched since 2014, including the Gokul Mission (2014), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana and Soil Health Card (2015), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and e-NAM (2016), Kisan Sampada Yojana (2017), 1.5-times MSP (2018), PM-Kisan Samman (2019), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and Matsya Sampada Yojana (2020), Ministry of Cooperation (2021), Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (2022), International Year of Millets (2023), National Mission on Edible Oils (2024) and Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (2025).

“From 2014 to 2026, there has not been a single year in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not launch a major initiative for farmers and livestock owners.”

Shah also highlighted the Government’s foodgrain procurement at MSP, claiming it had reached an all-time high under the Modi government.

He cited increases in MSP for key crops, saying the MSP of bajra had risen 130%, mustard 103%, wheat 84%, cotton 120% and jowar 168%.

44,000 cooperatives, new warehouses on the horizon

Rajasthan currently has around 44,000 cooperative societies, Shah said, adding that the Government’s objective was to ensure that not a single village in the State remains untouched by the cooperative movement.

“Modi government is making every village in the country prosperous through the cooperative movement.”

The State is also expanding its rural storage infrastructure. Fifty new warehouses are scheduled to be constructed in 2026–27, while 62 warehouses with 100-tonne capacity and 100 warehouses with 500-tonne capacity have already been completed.

Shah said the broader objective was to convert the Prime Minister’s cooperative mantra into a grassroots economic movement.

“We will realise Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ and make every village prosperous.”

The Alwar event thus brought together farm income support, dairy infrastructure, crop insurance, cooperative banking, warehousing and employment under one broad rural-development architecture — signalling an effort to make Rajasthan’s villages not merely beneficiaries of government schemes but active centres of economic growth.
