The energy transition may be powered by technology, but Technip Energies India is betting that its most important catalyst will be young, diverse talent. The company has welcomed its 2026 batch of more than 90 trainees, strengthening its talent pipeline as it seeks to build an inclusive, future-ready workforce capable of delivering engineering solutions for a more sustainable energy landscape.
A striking feature of this year’s intake is the continued emphasis on diversity. The overall diversity percentage among the young trainees stands at 63%, reflecting the company’s stated commitment to widening access to engineering careers and creating a workforce enriched by different perspectives and experiences.
The new trainees, selected through Technip Energies’ annual campus recruitment programme, will undergo a structured one-year development journey encompassing technical training, mentorship and hands-on project experience.
The programme is designed not merely as an induction into the workplace but as a talent-building platform through which young engineers can contribute to the company’s decarbonisation mission while gaining exposure to real-world energy projects.
‘Talent can thrive, lead and grow’
Madan Chandrasekaran, Director, People & Culture, India, Technip Energies, said the company’s people strategy remains central to its growth.
“Our success begins with our people. Maintaining more than 60% women representation in our graduate hiring programme for three consecutive years reflects our commitment to creating opportunities where talent can thrive, lead and grow.”
The sustained representation of women in graduate hiring marks a significant feature of the company’s talent strategy, particularly in an engineering sector that has traditionally sought to improve gender diversity across technical roles.
Fresh minds for the energy transition
The new cohort will receive a blend of classroom-style technical development, mentoring and practical project exposure, giving trainees an opportunity to translate academic learning into industry experience.
Davendra Kumar, Managing Director, India & APAC, Technip Energies, said diversity would be critical to innovation as the energy industry navigates a rapidly changing technological and sustainability landscape.
“Innovation thrives when diverse perspectives come together. We are proud to welcome a new generation of trainees who bring fresh ideas, curiosity and ambition.”
He added: “By investing in inclusive talent development today, we are building a collaborative, future-ready workforce that will help design and deliver sustainable solutions.”
India deepens its global talent role
India continues to occupy a strategic position in Technip Energies’ global operations, with the company seeking to strengthen its engineering capabilities through investments in emerging talent.
The latest intake comes as energy companies increasingly require professionals who can combine engineering expertise, digital capabilities, innovation and sustainability thinking to address the complexities of the global energy transition.
For Technip Energies India, the 2026 trainee programme therefore represents both an investment in young careers and an expansion of the talent base required to deliver engineering excellence while advancing its decarbonisation ambitions.
In an industry being reshaped by the race towards cleaner energy, Technip Energies is sending a clear signal: the workforce that designs tomorrow’s energy systems must itself reflect the diversity, curiosity and innovation of tomorrow.
