As part of the Navy Week celebrations, a cycle expedition, aiming to create awareness on coast security among the citizens, was taken out between December 3 and December 6.
A release from the Defence PRO said that 10 personnel from Gujarat Naval Area participated in the 394-km long expedition in four days. The expedition took off from INS Dwarka and culminated at Khurkri War Memorial at Diu via Okha.
The event was conducted under the aegis of HQGD & D. The expedition was organised to mark the historic victory of Indian forces over Pakistan during 1971 war and to commemorate the contribution of INS Khurkri personnel, who had fought for the nation.
On its way, the expedition team offered first aid to an accident victim before the ambulance team reached the spot, the release added.
