Etihad Airways’ new mobile application is now available on the Huawei AppGallery, the airline announced on Monday.
The Etihad Airways mobile app allows users to manage their trips, including booking flights, checking-in and securing a mobile boarding pass, checking flight status or viewing their miles balance.
The airline had previously launched mobile applications for the Apple App and Google Play stores.
In a statement, Etihad said that it will work with Huawei to explore more possibilities for digital collaboration. To start, Etihad’s mobile application will also be integrated into its HMS system, allowing a better user experience for Etihad users on Huawei and Honor devices.
“Etihad Airways is dedicated to reshaping the modern travel experience through delivering excellence in every single guest interaction, be it face-to-face or through our digital channels,” said Robin Kamark, Etihad Aviation Group’s chief commercial officer.
“We never cease to explore innovative solutions that ensure a seamless, world-class service for every single guest,” Kamark added.
With the launch of the app, Etihad becomes the first Middle East carrier to launch a mobile application in the Huawei AppGallery, which Kamark said is a sign of the airline’s commitment to the “strategic” Chinese market.
“The United Arab Emirates has gradually become one of the preferred places for Chinese outbound travel. The cooperation between Etihad Airways and Huawei AppGallery will be a big step attempt, since we aim to build the bridge between the best local content and our global users.” comments Adam Xiao, managing director of Huawei mobile services MEA, consumer business group.
