AHMEDABAD, OCT 13
Within two years of its launch, Ahmedabad-based start-up EKSBD Ventures Pvt Ltd which owns ClickNit, an e-commerce company dealing in micro-delivery service, has been able to provide all home needs at the doorstep with the lowest possible price in 12 areas of the city. The company intends to raise the second seed fund for its expansion, said company officials.
Now, the company intends to expand its operations from select neighbourhoods in Bopal, Vastrapur, Prahladnagar, etc to the entire city.
Founded in 2019 by a young quartet comprising Devang Gohil, Azmatkhan Lohani, Akshar Tank, and Maheshbhai Kaklotar, ClickNit runs an app-based subscription service that delivers fresh milk, fruits and vegetables, bread, eggs, and other groceries on daily, alternate days, weekly and monthly basis to its customers.
The startup’s core differentiator is its micro-delivery model which focuses exclusively on optimizing the supply chain and reducing delivery costs.
As a result, the startup claims, it has drastically cut down its pre-delivery cost by restricting all deliveries to only customers living in designated areas, and making all deliveries between 4 am and 7 am.
Currently, the startup delivers 15000+ Litre Milk, 2000 Kg. Vegetables every month to a customer base of 2000+ and 70000+ orders.
Devang Gohil, Cofounder at ClickNit said, “Our model is designed from the ground up for sustainable profitablity and have already achieved break-even in several pockets that we operate in. We have fine-tuned our operations and our per delivery costs are lowest in the industry standard.”
The startup which focuses on delivering high-perishable items such as milk and bread levies no delivery charges and does not specify a minimum order value for its customers.
Gohil added that “We want a seed fund of Rs 1 Crore to 4.26 Crore to expand our business. Right now we are doing 9000+ deliveries per month, after using the full amount of Rs 4.26 Crore within 1 year our monthly delivery will reach 150000+. When we raised our first small seed fund of Rs 11 lakh in June 2019, at that time our monthly delivery was only 108 and the investor asked commitment to reach 5000 deliveries within December 2019 and we have reached the target 1 month early – in November 2019 our delivery reached 5000+.”
When asked about the company’s expansion plans, Gohil said, “After establishing ourselves in Ahmedabad, we will expand our operations to Surat, Vadodara and other major cities of Gujarat.”
The serviceable market opportunity for daily essentials consumed by Indians across India is pegged at $10 billion, according to estimates.
In the next three years, ClickNit intends to create an icon e-commerce brand through laser-focused marketing and will grow to Rs 100 Million.
