160 trainees of the Merged Electrical Artificer Training (MEAT) Course passed out from the portals of INS Valsura, the premier electrical training establishment of the Indian Navy on Thursday, a Defence release said.
The MEAT course, spanning over 106 weeks, was conducted from November 5, 2018, to December 10, 2020, during which the trainees were exposed to a broad spectrum of technology subjects like radars, surface and subsurface weapon technologies, electronic warfare, control systems, etc, the release added.
Commodore Ajay Patney, Commanding Officer of INS Valsura, reviewed the Passing out Parade held at the establishment. The Commanding Officer complimented the trainees on the successful completion of their professional training and advised them that learning must be sustained to keep pace with the latest technological developments. He also spurred the artificers to be competent professionals and ensure that the platforms of the Indian Navy are always combat-ready.
During the Passing out Parade, the Commodore awarded the Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All Round Sailor’ to Prashant Kumar, EA(P)/ APP and Commanding Officer, INS Valsura Trophy for ‘Best Sportsman’ to Ramesh Dhadhariya, EA(P)/ APP. Prashant Kumar, EA(P)/ APP of Power stream and Vikas, EA(R)/ APP of Radio stream also received the Book prizes from the Commodore for standing first and second, respectively, in the order of merit in their streams.
