Aiming to create more job givers, an Online Faculty Development Program on Entrepreneurship was jointly organized by Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), and Manipal Institute of Technology was inaugurated on Monday, March 1, 2021, through online mode, says a release.
Inaugurating the programme, Prof. Balakrishna Rao, Director-IT and Digital Transformation, MAHE stressed the need for adopting digital transformation in every part of the business. Presiding over the function, Dr. D Srikanth Rao, Director, MIT, Manipal opined that the initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) would help the faculty members in starting their own startups besides providing the requisite skills to guide the students to take up entrepreneurship as the career.
The two-week program, supported by DST, Government of India, aims at equipping the faculty members with knowledge and requisite skills for initiating entrepreneurship development-related activities in their respective Institutions. Faculty members of Engineering, Medical, and Pharmaceutical Sciences from various Institutions are participating in the program.
More than 30 resource persons from IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIM Bengaluru, MAHE Manipal and other Institutions are conducting sessions on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Technology development, Product development, Finance, Marketing, Funding for startups, etc.
Dr. Santhosha Rao, Assistant General Manager, MUTBI, and Chethan Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Information and Communication Technology, MIT are Program Coordinators of this 2-week FDP on Entrepreneurship.
