A 12-day All-India NCC ‘Advance Leadership Camp’ (ALC) is being conducted at Thamna village of Anand district by the NCC Directorate, Gujarat from January 17 to January 28. Three hundred specially selected Senior Division NCC cadets drawn from all states of India converged at this camp, a Defence PRO release said.
They have been undergoing training which is based on a specially formulated outdoor activity ‘CADET’ (Comprehensive All-round Development and Employability Training) programme, including ‘ICE Breakers’ exercises followed by various workshops on Communication Techniques, Self Understanding, Listening Skills, Team-Building exercises, Confidence-building, Creative Thinking, and Public Speaking Techniques. CADET is an experimental, hands-on personality development programme developed exclusively for NCC cadets.
Nine ‘Domain Experts’ from across the country are carrying out the institutionalized leadership training of the NCC Cadets to arouse their latent leadership potential through a scientific process of personality enhancement, development of soft skills, communication skills, increased awareness and initiation into various human relation (HR) & management techniques. Additionally, the cadets will be exposed to the process of Services Selection Boards (SSB) and motivated to select Armed Forces as their ‘First Career Choice’.
The NCC Cadets attending the training are enjoying the unique experience of the Outdoor Camp curriculum and looking ahead to the several competitive events to be conducted during the camp.
