The South Western Air Command (SWAC) of the Indian Air Force is conducting a five-day Cycle Expedition- from January 22 to January 26. 2020 – to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to promote the ‘Fit India Movement’ along with ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, a Defence release said.
The expedition will commence on January 22 from Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad and after reaching the National Salt Satyagraha Memorial, Dandi and it will return to Air Force Station Gandhinagar.
The expedition will be flagged off by Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran Vayusena Medal, Senior Air Staff Officer on January 22 from HQ SWAC. The expedition, led by Air Vice Marshal AP Singh, will pedal down the famous route undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi.
