Major General Roy Joseph, ADG, NCC Directorate, Gujarat on Thursday inspected the All India NCC ‘Advanced Leadership Camp’ being held at Thamna, Anand. The 12-day camp is being held under the stewardship of Brig RK Gaikwad, Group Commander, NCC Gp HQs, VV Nagar.
During the visit, Maj Gen Roy Joseph interacted with the Cadets at the camp and carried out a comprehensive assessment of the instructions being imparted by the domain experts, Psychologist and the Group Testing Officers. He was appreciative of the creative teaching techniques being employed and noted the perceptible difference it has made to the personalities of the attendees. The General Officer witnessed the Group Discussions, News Analysis, Debate, and Lecturettes of the Cadets and also shared his experience. At the end of the session, he addressed the Cadets and the staff at the Camp and motivated them to fulfill their goals. He also awarded four NCC staff for their dedication to the duty at the Camp.
The Cadets attending the Leadership Camp have mostly chosen ‘Armed Forces’ as their first career option and will be appearing for the UPSC Exams for the ‘Officer’ rank. The Camp affords these NCC Cadets a unique opportunity to prepare more fruitfully to appear in the ‘Service Selection Board’ which is held after the Written Exam phase of the UPSC Selection.
The NCC Camp will continue up to January 28. The Cadets are presently preparing to compete in several competitions to be held over the next five days.
