Dear son,
On your 18th birthday, I wanted to gift you something much more than any surprise and worth any celebrations.
As you have grown up to a legal age I want to give you a piece of advice. You always used to complain about me loving your daughter more than you. Yes you were right, she has got a special place in my heart, and you are a piece of my heart which I never wished to break.
You don’t know how special I felt when you walked into this world, when I hugged you for the first time you were a tiny little baby not even the size of my palms sleeping peacefully in my arms. When I first touched you, the feeling of victory that you are my blood, my son, my child can’t be expressed in any words.
When you were a kid and you sat on my shoulders wandering around, when you won even the smallest competitions in your school, I was the happiest to see my kid doing well, my seed coming out like a plant. So here I want to share a few things that I have learned from my experiences in life.
Son, you will find a variety of people in your path, some will be there to lift you up and others to pull you down. You won’t always get a straightforward path, sometimes you may have to walk on thorns and this is where the real taste of life lies.
You can’t always make the right decisions, failure may cross your path, learn from failures. Everyone will try to teach you what to do and how to do it, but the only failure will teach you what not to do. Always stay focused and enjoy your life to the fullest. Never give up on someone or something that you love my dear, the path can be difficult and the battle can be difficult, but the surrender is permanent.
Seeing you on the heights will make me the happiest person. I will be proud to be called by your name.
Look for a life partner who not only gives you every happiness but also be your strength in your tough days. In front of whom you can dance as well as mourn. A happy heart and a home filled with love should be your assets and you are meant to keep them safe.
Mistakes happen in life, but trust yourself and try to correct your mistake every time. You have just got one life, live it rightly.
Always remember that your existence in this world has a purpose. This world is full of cool people, and if you can’t find one, be one.
You won’t understand all the things I have said, but always try to work on them in your life. Whenever you are confused or in any dilemma, read this out and try finding your answer.
You must know your father will always be with you, no matter what. You must know that I will watch over you, will protect you, and will love you even after I am gone because you will always be a piece of my heart.
Happy birthday once again my son.
