Senior officials of Andhra Pradesh Government congratulated NABARD on its 40th Foundation Day and looking forward to their continued collaboration for the development and growth of Andhra Pradesh here on Friday
Andhra Pradesh Special Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Sericulture & Horticulture and Chief Guest Dr Poonam Malakondaiah congratulated NABARD for its proactive role in fostering rural prosperity. She also acknowledged the various challenges facing the agrarian sector and shed light upon the roadmap for achieving sustained growth in farm incomes and reducing the vulnerability of farmers.

AR Anuradha, IPS, Principal Secretary, WCD & SC Department expressed her gratitude towards the support for Anganwadi Centres by NABARD under RIDF.
A Babu, IAS, Commissioner, Cooperation and RCS, had acknowledged the various changes that were possible due to the timely interventions of NABARD in both supervising and policy making roles. He had also lauded NABARD for its financial inclusion activities in rural areas of the district.
Arun Kumar, IAS, Commissioner Agriculture, In his address, while congratulating NABARD for its proactive role in fostering rural prosperity, he acknowledged the various challenges facing the agrarian sector and shed light upon the roadmap for achieving sustained growth in farm incomes and reducing the vulnerability of farmers, he has also acknowledged the financial support rendered by NABARD to the university under RIDF.
T Janakiram, Vice-Chancellor, Horticulture University, has acknowledged the financial support rendered by NABARD to the university under RIDF. He had also lauded the works of NABARD in rural and urban areas, particularly in Horticulture sector.
Sudhir Kumar Jannawar, Chief General Manager of NABARD’s AP Regional Office, while addressing the gathering, highlighted that NABARD after 4 decades of serving rural india, not only its balanace sheet has grown from Rs 4,500 crore to Rs 6.5 lakh crore but also has evolved into a learning and knowledge based organisation. NABARD contributed to rural infrastructure creation in Andhra Pradesh with financial support of Rs 2,684 crore, credit facility of Rs 7,472 crore for procurement operations, extended refinance support to the tune of Rs 22,065 crore to Cooperative Banks and Regional Rural Banks and provided impetus to various developmental and promotional initiatives such as financing FPOs. To meet the liquidity needs of the RRBs and Cooperative Banks in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Rs 2,500 crore was released under the Special Liquidity Facility, he said.
Jannawar, indicated that the State of Andhra Pradesh has always been a happening state. He thanked the Government of Andhra Pradesh for enabling NABARD to support infrastructure projects in the Fisheries Sector. Jannawar pledged NABARD’s continued support for holistic development of Andhra Pradesh, especially in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Jannawar also indicated that in order to strengthen the banking network and to promote inclusive banking, NABARD will continue to support financial inclusion initiatives in the State such as conducting financial and digital literacy camps, conducting street plays on financial literacy, supporting mobile demonstration vans-cum-micro-ATMs for doorstep banking.
V Bhramananda Reddy, SLBC, Field General Manager & Convenor, expressed his happiness for NABARD playing a key role in policy making for SHG, JLG formations, Watersheds, FPOs, TDF, which inturn brought smile on the faces of downtrodden populae. This credit facility to SHG and JLG is now playing a key role in the credit portfolios of many banks.

Senior officials from various Commercial Banks, Regional Rural Banks, Cooperative Banks, a few NGOs and FPOs attended the programme.
B Ramesh Babu, DGM, NABARD acknowledged the important role played by all stakeholders, i.e. Government, Banks, NGOs in rural India’s vibrant growth story. As a recognition of their exemplary work in agriculture and rural development Banks, NGOs, FPOs, rural innovators and farmers practising high-tech agriculture were felicitated on the auspicious occasion.
