AHMEDABAD, MARCH 1
City-based Devi Bag Shopping Mall Private Limited has lined up aggressive pan-India expansion plan over a period of two years. Under this plan, the company will strengthen its presence in all major cities of Gujarat which will be followed by opening stores in neighbouring Rajasthan and other parts of the country. This will take the company’s stores tally to over 100 from the present eight in Ahmedabad, a top company official said here on Monday.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Devi Bag Shopping Mall Private Limited Managing Director Ashish Sharma said, “We are into this business for over 15 years. Within three years of turning into a private limited company, we have branched out in the metro city of Ahmedabad with eight centres. Our success mantras are ‘customers are the kings and their satisfaction propels our trade’. Eighty percent of our staffers are Gujaratis from all religions and castes. Under our pan-India plan, we will open over 100 stores over a period of two years. Correspondingly our staff strength will go up to 1,000 from the present 120.”
To a query on funding for expansion, Sharma said, “The company will tap the capital market with an IPO very soon. Despite the COVID-induced lockdown and slow down in the economy our company has reported a robust sales turnover of Rs 9 crore to 10 crore. The company sells branded as well as its own products manufactured in two factories in Ahmedabad. In tune with PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ for global business, we maintain highest quality standards and offer life-time free after sales and service and employ women in the production line.”
Sharing his experience Ashish Sharma said he started a small bag shop in Sindhi Market in Maninagar, Ahmedabad nearly 15 years ago. It was transformed from a small bags shop to a private limited company in 2019.
With the divine blessings of Pawan Vege Devi and his parents, Ashish Sharma has opened the 8th branch of Devi Bag Shopping Mall Pvt Ltd in Nikol. As a token of gratitude, Sharma has distributed 2,100 kg sweets made by Rajasthan’s “Khirmohan” brand to NGOs in and around Ahmedabad. All orphanages, old age homes, Andhjan mandal and poor and needy have been given this gift.
Incidentally, Ashish Sharma was honoured by former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani with Best Businessman of the Year Award in March 2021 in Ahmedabad.
