Padma Shri Dr Jitendranath Goswami, former Director of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad on Wednesday inaugurated Click Walk 2, an exhibition of photographs clicked by noted real estate developer and award-winning town planner NK Patel during his nine visits to the Northeast region.
It is needless to say that travel photography is like a time machine, freezing memories from a journey that you can look back on and enjoy for years. The realtor falls in love with the natural beauty of Northeast, and captures kaleidoscope of culture for presenting to the Gujarati wanderlust to enjoy. The photographs span across people, culture, architecture, historical monuments, landscape, wildlife, etc. and offer a unique insight into the onto-epistemological framework of the peoples, places, and cultural products of the Northeast region.
Commenting on his second edition of Click Walk, NK Patel enthusiastically says, “The Northeast region holds special importance in India. It has a cultural and historical uniqueness, a range of communities, and geographical and ecological diversity unlike any other part of the country. A lot of thought and effort went into the photos that were clicked during my multiple visits to the region. I have tried to give a unique perspective of the natural beauty and richness of the North East region. I am confident the exhibition will give the viewers a lot more than what photographs taken during travel often do.”
“I would also like to thank Dr. Jitendranath Goswami for accepting my invitation. He is from Assam and is well-versed in North Eastern culture, so it is apt that he will open the exhibition” he added.
Whoever visits this exhibition will certainly pack their bags and take their family to Northeast for the ensuing summer vacation to find solace in the lap of Mother Nature.
