Ahmedabad unit of Rajasthan’s Jalore district based Shri Godham Mahateerth Pathmeda Lokpunyarth Nyas will hold Veda Lakshna Chaturmas Gaumangal Festival from Sunday, July 10 at Shri Sola Bhagwat Vidyapith on SG Highway in Ahmedabad, said Go Rishi Swami Dattasharanand Maharaj here on Friday.
The festival will commence with a Sobha Yatra at 10 am on Sunday from Shri Sola Bhagwat Vidyapith campus on SG Highway in Ahmedabad.
As part of the festival, Shri Gurupurnima Festival will be held on July 13 to September 10 at 9 am onwards. Further, Shri Vishnusahasranam will be held daily between 5am and 6 am, Shri Surabhi Harihar Pujan-cum-Archan will also be performed daily 6 am to 8 am. This will be followed by Go Rishi Swami Dattasharanand Maharaj’s Shri Gaugita Mahima Discourse between 9 am and 11 am daily.
Go Rishi Swami Dattasharanand Maharaj said that 1.5 lakh cows are being taken care of by 64 goshalas and 3,000 gosevaks run by the Nyas which has over 3 lakh members spread all over the country.
The main purpose of this festival is to make the general public aware of the glory of the deshi cow and its qualities and to create a feeling among the public for the protection of the cow. The protection of the cow is the protection of mother nature, Swami Dattasharanand Maharaj added.
