As a marketing initiative to support farmers’ producers’ organisations, artisans, self-help groups, sakhi mandalis, products, a three-day buyer-seller meet will be inaugurated on Friday, February 28, a Nabard release said.
The first edition of ‘Sahayog Mela’ being organised by NABARD, Gujarat Regional Office is an attempt to bring producers and consumers on the same platform without any middlemen and proposes to showcase the richness and diversity of rural India.
The mela is a marketing platform for producers like farmers’ producers’ organisations, artisans, self-help groups/ sakhimandalis, etc., to meet the consumers directly and also to exhibit their produce, products, and handicrafts.
The three-day event, commencing on February 28 will conclude on March 1, 2020, will have a total of 80 stalls wherein, participants from different parts of Gujarat and also other states will display their produce and products.
The mela will be inaugurated on Friday 1t 4:30 pm and remain open till Sunday. The venue will be Ahmedabad Haat, Near Sandesh Press Road, Opp. Lake Road, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, the release added.
Products on display will range from spices, cereals, fruits, vegetables, processed foods, handicrafts, handlooms, food, décor, woodwork, stonework,etc., among other fascinating creations.
Such platforms not only enable them to showcase their talents to urban India but also to establish direct networking between Buyers and Sellers, thus eliminating middlemen. It also allows visitors to explore diverse cultures and arts under one roof.
