With an aim to create self-employment opportunities for Gujarati youth having entrepreneurial skills and to deliver best professional makeup courses, LS Salon Academy opened its first educational venture in the state in Ahmedabad on Monday.
Gujarati film artists Bhakti Kubawat and Jai Wadhwani inaugurated this luxurious LS Salon Academy at Axiom-2 near ISKCON Platinum on Bhopal-Ambli Road in Ahmedabad. Founders of LS Salon Academy Laukik Shah and Sheetal Shah, along with hairstyling veterans were present on te occasion.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, LS Salon Academy Founder Laukik Shah said, “I feel extremely happy to see the dream that I have been living for 16 years come true. LS Salon Academy is my leap of faith. With this salon of mine I aim to revolutionize the Ahmedabad salon market in collaboration with L’Oreal Education. Various professional courses are being offered at the Salon Academy and with the launch of the Salon Academy, career opportunities are opening up for youth in the hair styling industry of the state and it is paving the way for self-employment.”
Talking about the Diploma in Hair-Stylist course, Shah said, “Anyone with a minimum qualification of SSC and communication skills in English can join this four-month course, including one-month mandatory internship which may be extended further for fruitful completion of the course. Although the course fee is Rs 1.75 lakh, as an inaugural offer 20 percent discount is available now. We admit 12 to 15 students per batch and I will be the main faculty along with my assistant trainers. Services from hair cutting to groom-bridal makeup are available under one roof at this unisex salon to facilitate hands-on training to students. Apart from this course, we also run special trainers classes and collect Rs 2 lakh fees.”

Shah holds a PhD in Colouration from the London School of Hairstyling and Master of Business Administration – in Sales and marketing from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) Global. And constantly upskills his knowledge by taking part in global meets.
Shah added that Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Group is reportedly set to embark in a completely different direction with plans to open salons across India. This speaks volumes of the hairstyle industry’s bright prospects.
