To mark the centenary celebrations of veteran neurosurgeon Dr B Ramamurthi, a pictorial book was conceptualized and published by Dr K Sridhar, Director and Group Mentor, Neurosciences, Kauvery Hospital, Radial Road, Chennai.
- The book contains photos depicting the life and times of Dr Ramamurthi and explains the development of neurosciences in Tamil Nadu
- An Oration named after Prof Ramamurthi was delivered by Prof Anil Nanda, Prof of Neurosurgery, Rutgers University, USA
- World Federation Of Neurosurgical Societies Foundation Course held in Chennai
The book was released virtually by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin at the World Federation of Neurosurgeons (WFNS) Foundation course held in Chennai on Sunday.
Showcasing the book Dr Sridhar said “The book is a work of “guru dakshina” to the person who was not only a teacher and mentor but also a person who shaped my life and thinking in many ways”.
The book contains photos depicting the life and times of Dr Ramamurthi and also explaining in detail about the development of neurosciences in Tamil Nadu. It has messages from many personalities, from India and abroad, who have interacted with Prof Ramamurthi over the years and whose lives he has touched.
An Oration named after Prof Ramamurthi was delivered by Prof Anil Nanda, Prof of Neurosurgery, Rutgers University, USA. Several neurosurgical dignitaries from India and abroad attended the meeting held for 2 days.
The meeting was organized by Dr K Sridhar and hosted by the Kauvery Institute of Brain and Spine. The two day meet was attended by over 250 neurosurgeons from across the nation and also international faculty members as well.
