As Valentine’s Day approaches, Chennai is set to fall in love all over again—this time to the music of A.R. Rahman. Arriving at the Jawaharlal Nehru Outdoor Stadium on February 14, The Wonderment Tour promises an evening where emotion flows freely, melodies linger long after the final note, and romance finds its rhythm.
Rahman’s return to Chennai after a long gap carries the warmth of a homecoming, but the Valentine’s Day concert elevates the moment into something deeply intimate. The Chennai leg of the tour brings together a thoughtfully curated ensemble of voices that mirror the many shades of love—tender, passionate, playful and profound.
At the heart of the evening is Chinmayi Sripada, whose voice has long been synonymous with some of Rahman’s most evocative romantic melodies. Sharing the stage is A.R. Ameen, bringing youthful energy and a contemporary global sensibility that gently bridges generations.
Adding texture and emotion to the night are Nisa Shetty and Nitesh Aher, known for their expressive stage presence, along with Amrutha Suresh, whose powerful vocals resonate with intensity and grace. Nakul Abhyankar and Adithya RK lend a modern pulse, while Rakshita Suresh and Singer Srinivasa bring depth through their seamless blend of classical discipline and modern expression. Completing the tapestry is Adhitya RK, whose collaborations with Rahman blur boundaries between film music and global hip-hop influences. The evening is also expected to hold a few musical surprises, heightening anticipation.
Together, this collective of voices is set to revisit Rahman’s iconic compositions—songs that have defined love stories for decades—while re-imagining them through fresh, immersive live arrangements. The emphasis on multiple lead vocalists reflects the composer’s enduring belief that music, like love, is richest when expressed through many voices.
Organised by Noise and Grains in association with Jo Entertainment and Fairgame Entertainment, the Chennai edition of The Wonderment Tour also carries a thoughtful Valentine’s gesture beyond the music. Free Metro Rail passes will be provided to all ticket holders, encouraging sustainable travel and ensuring a smooth, unhurried journey to an unforgettable night.
As The Wonderment Tour arrives in Chennai on Valentine’s Day, it promises more than a concert—it offers a shared moment of romance, nostalgia and wonder, where a city, its people and their most beloved composer come together under the spell of music. Tickets are fast selling on District by Zomato.
