AHMEDABAD, APRIL 15
India claims to produce seven-fold times the number of engineers as that of a country like the US. But the harsh truth is that over 95 percent of these engineers do not have even basic coding capabilities and end up in glorified data-entry jobs. Other than some lab work, students have no exposure to the latest trends or software that are in demand.
US-based Aarav Solutions, a global product engineering and IT consulting services, has done a thorough research on these shortcomings and joined hands with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and, GESIA to impart a job-ready skill development and employability programme for students, graduates and young professionals in Gujarat.
Aarav Solutions on Thursday announced the launch of first of its initiative Adptx Labs, the most contemporary internship programs for final year students, fresh graduates and young professionals in Ahmedabad. Initially, 30 final year students from a reputed engineering college will undergo three to six months of rigorous training by industry experts in hybrid mode on their campus. This will be gradually expanded to other colleges too.
Adptx Lab will be a dynamic education platform that will benefit learners and businesses alike. As a medium for higher education students will not only gain relevant digital skills that enhance their job-readiness and employability but also augment their judgment and acumen on core concepts and technologies across artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cloud, big data, wireless technologies among others.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Raj Darji, Founder CEO of Aarav Solutions, said, “Adptx Labs is a complete game-changer as it brings together the industry and the academia to better the business environment as well as produce world-class talent equipped with the right exposure to core tools and technologies and on-the-job training. Larger percentage of students passing out are still not job-ready and this program will address that gap. These students will not only become job-ready but will also have the potential to create technological innovations, solve real-world problems with emerging technologies. Students, graduates and young professionals will immensely benefit from this program as they are designed, developed and delivered by experienced industry veterans.”
On completion of this training, if the students meet Aarav Solutions’ job criteria, they will be subjected to a scientifically-proven selection process and will be offered jobs. Further, they will be able to grab good jobs in their core fields with adequate domain knowledge. These industry-ready engineers will be a boon the industry, added Rajiv Darji.
According to Rajiv Darji, the company has a staff strength of over 200 in the US, UK and Canada, including around 125 in India. Despite the COVID pandemic, the company has not resorted to any salary cut but paid handsome variable pay to all staffers every quarter to keep their morale high. And above all, 10 to 30 percent annual hike was given to them in appraisals to retain the right talents.
Women empowerment
Aarav Solutions has recently launched the ‘Woot! Initiative’ a unique ‘returnship’ initiative aimed at supporting the re-entry of career-ready women in tech. The program aims to address the shortage of experienced talent as well as give working women a platform to restart their careers they left off before taking a break to raise a family or for other personal reasons. The Woot Initiative is very unique as it offers 40+ open positions across core technologies, project management, business development, product marketing and more; provides accelerated and customized training and upskilling through courses, tools and on-the-job guidance; flexibility of working; tasks commensurate with their total experience and skills; chance to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and a strong network of like-minded ‘returners’ to share experiences with and strong mentors to learn from.
