Action Covid-19 Team (ACT) Grants, India’s first not-for-profit grant set up by venture capital investors and start-up founders to help India fight the COVID-19 pandemic, has partnered with Goodera to supply over 15000 PPE kits to the Tamil Nadu Government.
This effort is made towards leading India Inc’s efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic through CSR projects, volunteer-driven engagements, and donation opportunities.
As a part of this collaboration, ACT Grants has provided additional match funding of between 10-20% of the donation collected by Goodera. The first set of PPE kits were distributed in Tamil Nadu in June which included 5000 PPE kits delivered to Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited.
This partnership is an immediate response to the scarcity of PPE kits to safeguard healthcare professionals working in private/public hospitals, police officials, and government authorities who are at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19. This association has achieved its initial target of raising 5.46 crores and is planning its second fundraising campaign for 1.6 crores. Through this partnership, ACT Grants and Goodera aim to distribute PPE kits in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Pune in the coming days.
Mohit Bhatnagar, Spokesperson of ACT Grants said “We are working closely with Goodera to encourage more and more corporates to be a part of this initiative and help us fight this pandemic. As an incentive, we are carrying out matching donations with the funds Goodera is raising to supply PPE kits, N95 masks, and other essentials to the state governments and hospitals. ACT grants are set up to empower corporates and individuals who are doing their part to help the country in times of crisis and we are here to make that process easy and impactful. We hope to see more corporates coming forward and encouraging their employees to be a part of this cause through virtual volunteering and donating whatever they can.”
Goodera has engaged with some of the leading organizations in India to help front-line doctors in this fight by providing opportunities for funding critical COVID-19 projects and structuring the engagements to be CSR compliant. Goodera also provides a donation platform that allows employees to raise funds for NGOs working on Covid-19 relief.
Abhishek Humbad, Founder and CEO of Goodera said “The world is facing a crisis and we are in a space to encourage and enable corporates to fight this pandemic in any way they can. There is a severe shortage of proper equipment to fight COVID and PPE kits play an essential role in protecting healthcare professionals and frontline workers. We at Goodera are dedicated to supplying as many kits we can to the state governments. Difficult times like this make us realize the change each of us can make in this world and with ACT Grants matching these contributions we hope to raise more funds and help more people in the future. Goodera has received overwhelmingly positive responses for all the COVID-19 initiatives so far and has been actively involved to support the ecosystem of corporate, Non-profits, and frontline health workers across the country. We are thankful to all our customers and partners who supported us on the mission to fight the pandemic.”
