In a landmark achievement that underscores India’s accelerating transition to renewable power, Adani Solar has surpassed 15,000 megawatts (MW) in solar module shipments across domestic and international markets — becoming the first and fastest Indian manufacturer to reach this milestone.
Of the total modules shipped, 10,000 MW were deployed across India and 5,000 MW exported globally, equivalent to nearly 28 million solar panels spanning 7,500 football fields, company officials said. Notably, about 70% of these modules were made using Adani’s indigenously manufactured solar cells, bolstering the government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
“Our 15,000 MW milestone reflects Adani Solar’s strong commitment to India’s energy independence and clean energy future,” said a company spokesperson.
Adani Solar is now preparing for the next leap — expanding production capacity from 4,000 MW to 10,000 MW by the next financial year, with an ambition to ship another 15,000 MW over the coming years.
The company remains the only Indian player listed among the world’s Top 10 solar module manufacturers, according to Wood Mackenzie, a leading global research firm. The firm’s latest report, ‘Perfect Storm in the Indian Solar Supply Chain’, predicts that India’s solar module manufacturing capacity will exceed 125 GW by 2025, tripling the current domestic demand of around 40 GW.
With a retail presence in over 550 districts and a strong network of 35 exclusive channel partners, Adani Solar operates India’s largest solar module distribution network, ensuring high-quality, locally produced modules reach both urban and rural markets efficiently.
The company’s shipments have already had a far-reaching environmental and social impact — powering 5 million homes, creating 2,500 green jobs, and helping avoid 60 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The cumulative length of modules deployed by Adani Solar spans 65,000 kilometres, enough to circle the Earth one and a half times.
India’s solar manufacturing base has grown from 2.3 GW in 2014 to an estimated 100 GW by 2025, with over 100 active domestic manufacturers. In the first half of FY26, India’s solar exports surged 20% year-on-year to USD 668 million, driven by strong demand from the US, UAE, Kenya, Hungary, and Iran.
Adani Solar also leads India’s rooftop solar revolution, having supplied 1.78 GW of modules in the past year — enough to power nearly six lakh homes. The company accounts for 54% of modules supplied under the government’s flagship Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to provide solar energy to 10 million households by 2027.
With over half of India’s installed electricity capacity already coming from non-fossil fuel sources, five years ahead of its Paris Agreement target, the country is firmly on track to achieve 500 GW of clean energy capacity by 2030.
Adani Solar, through its integrated manufacturing ecosystem — from ingots and wafers to modules and solar glass, EVA, and aluminium frames — continues to serve as a cornerstone of India’s green energy independence and a global advocate for sustainable transformation.
