After three decades, the two Icons of Kollywood industry – Super Star Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan – all set to join hands for a mega project to be kicked off next year. The duo had acted together in Director P Bharathiraja’s `Pathinaaru Vayathinile’’, which was a blockbuster in the 1980s.
Kollywood sources whisper that the film will feature Rajinikanth in the lead role and will be produced by his ‘Kalaiulaga Anna’ Kamal Hassan.
The sources close to the two icons have confirmed the project and mention the name of Lokesh Kanagaraj for the directorial job.
The team actually planning to launch the project in a grand manner during November 2021 if the thing goes well.
Initially, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were reportedly planning to have an official launch for the yet to be titled project in April 2020, in a grand event. However, the team was forced to cancel the plans at the last minute, due to the coronavirus threat and lockdown. However, the post-production activities are proceeding in full swing.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and his team are planning to kickstart the shooting of the Rajinikanth starrer by the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. The Superstar is yet to finalise his dates for the prestigious project. Rajinikanth is expected to join the team once he completes the shooting of Annaatthe, the upcoming Siva directorial.
Even though the rumour mills suggest that Kamal Haasan will be making only a cameo appearance in the movie, apart from producing it under his home banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The Ulaganayagan will be next seen in the upcoming Shankar directorial Indian 2. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, on the other hand, is all set to release his ambitious project Master, which features Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, once the lockdown ends.
