Producer Anand Pandit has an interesting mix of projects lined up for 2023 and one of them happens to be the Gujarati entertainer ‘Tron Ekka’. Pandit and Vaishal Shah announced this promising social comedy after the massive success of their family entertainer ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ which had a much talked about cameo by none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
Says Pandit, “After the success of ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’, expectations from ‘Tron Ekka’ have skyrocketed. Gujarati cinema in recent times has produced relatable, contemporary and diverse stories helmed by young directors which appeal to millennials, Gen Z and also audiences across generations. ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ for instance had a universal theme and clicked with families as well as the youth. I feel Gujarati cinema is all set to become a pan-Indian success story.”
About ‘Tron Ekka’, Pandit said, “This is my third collaboration with producer Vaishal Shah after ‘Days of Tafree’ and ‘Fakt Mahilao Mate’ and once again we are uniting to tell a story that is entertaining and also has a subtle social message. The fans, the trade and we are also thrilled to see the combination of Yash Soni, Malhar Thakar and Mitra Gadhvi on screen after ‘Chhello Divas’, their debut film which shot them to instant stardom.”
Pandit says, ‘Trone Ekka”s script with its situational comedy and plot twists about three bumbling friends instantly caught his attention. He adds, “The message beneath all the laughter is that shortcuts do not serve any purpose in the long run. This film has the potential to appeal to a wide cross-section of viewers across India.”
