The Shaurya Yatra led by Colonel J S Mehta, a historic motorcycle rally organized to commemorate the courage, resilience, and legacy of the Assam Rifles, successfully concluded on Monday, its 190th Raising Day at the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat. The rally, flagged off from Vijaynagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on 10 March 2025, traversed nine states and covered over 4,000 km, culminating in a grand flagging-in ceremony on Assam Rifles Day at the Rann of Kutch.

“The rally was officially flagged in at the Rann of Kutch in a grand ceremony organized by the “Bald Eagle Brigade”, marking a momentous occasion in the history of Assam Rifles. The Shaurya Yatra was more than just a bike rally, it was a journey of courage, endurance, and unity. As the dust settles at the Rann of Kutch, the spirit of this remarkable expedition will continue to inspire generations, echoing the Assam Rifles’ motto: ‘Friends of the North East,’” said a Defence statement
“Altogether 12 bike riding enthusiasts from Indian Army, Assam Rifles and locals from Arunachal Pradesh taking part in the rally interacted with over 3,000 school and college students and motivated them to join the Indian Armed Forces. They also engaged with communities across nine States and showcased Assam Rifles’ contributions to national security and development,” Colonel Mehta told reporters.

The rally commenced from Vijaynagar, Arunachal Pradesh, passed through key locations, receiving ceremonial receptions at major stops: Vijaynagar → Jairampur → Jorhat → Dimapur → Guwahati → Siliguri → Patna → Varanasi → Gwalior → Udaipur → Ahmedabad → Bhuj → Rann of Kutch.

At each location, the rally was welcomed with enthusiasm by ex-servicemen, students, and local communities. Public interactions, patriotic events, and cultural performances marked the journey.
