Age is simply a number, so if a mom follows her passion and dream, she will achieve a lot, demonstrated a mother of two grown-up children here on Sunday.
Nehal Vyas, 48, mother of two grown-up children, participated in a marathon event for the first time and completed the 21-km half marathon in 2 hours and 34 minutes.
Nehal, who works in the IT industry, practised running for only two months under Biren Dolia, who also teaches her aerial yoga, to prepare for the run. Nehal was all smiles when she completed the run. She was happy to have realised her dream of long-distance running and demonstrating that women can go a long way if they follow their passion and dream.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Nehal Vyas said, “I feel energised and meditative when I run. Infrassist Director “Nirav Shah” , who regularly runs marathons , suggested that I participate in a half marathon because I run fairly well.”
To a query on “Will you make it a regular habit to take part in all marathons?”, she replied that “Yes, I currently wish to take part in every marathon that will be held in Ahmedabad. I will be running in the ’b Safal Ahmedabad Marathon’ next.”
Answering another query “What is your message for all moms through your participation in this marathon?” Vyas confidently said, “Age is simply a number, so if a mom follows her passion and dream, she will achieve a lot.”
