Doctors urge women to get screened for cervical and breast cancer once a year

Ahead of International Women’s Day, Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad organised an awareness session on cervical and breast cancer at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, on Thursday.

Expert doctors delivered their insights into these two very common cancers. Dr Usha Bohra, Senior Consultant and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Apollo Hospital Ahmedabad, discussed about cervical cancer, covering its causes, symptoms and treatment options. Dr. Shubha Sinha, Consultant Breast Surgeon at Apollo Cancer Centre, spoke about breast cancer and highlighted the importance of early detection.

Along with this, doctors urged women to get screened for cervical and breast cancer once a year. PDEU students and faculty members attended the session, gaining valuable knowledge on cancer prevention and care.
