NEW DELHI, FEB 1

As Delhi prepares for its upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, ABP News successfully hosted the Delhi edition of Shikhar Sammelan in New Delhi on Thursday. This event provided a vital platform for political leaders, policymakers and thought leaders to deliberate on the future of the capital. The event facilitated insightful discussions on governance, public welfare, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.

A special guest panel at ABP News Shikhar Sammelan witnessed the participation of prominent political figures, including Atishi Marlena, Chief Minister of Delhi; Arvind Kejriwal, Former Chief Minister of Delhi, and National Convenor, AAP, Manish Sisodia, Former Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi; and Satyendar Jain, Ex Minister- Health, Industries, Home, Power, DJB and Urban Development, Delhi, and MLA from Shakurbasti constituency. The panellists outlined the party’s vision for the capital.

Giving his perspective on the key issues shaping Delhi’s trajectory, Arvind Kejriwal, said, “The fabric of AAP is woven with the aspirations of middle-class families, not the affluence of the elite, which is what the BJP focuses on. Remember, true progress for our country lies in the welfare of its people, not in transient political alliances. We are committed to safeguarding and advancing this progress, steering clear of the contamination of politics and focusing solely on the purity of purpose.”

Atishi Marlena, Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, and Member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said, “The only thing the BJP has done is abuse Arvind Kejriwal. The people of Delhi know there is one party that only talks about the work they have done for the people of Delhi, and on the other hand, there is another party that only abuses. Delhi has become the gangster capital of the country, similar to Mumbai in the 90s. Therefore, keeping the people of the state safe and maintaining law and order is our top priority.”

Accompanying the event from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was senior leader Raghav Chadha, MP, Rajya Sabha, who addressed concerns regarding pollution control measures, urban planning and governance reforms.

Sanjay Singh, MP, Rajya Sabha and Sudhanshu Trivedi, National Spokesperson, BJP, engaged in a debate on strengthening governance frameworks in Delhi. The two leaders from opposing parties engaged in a robust exchange on their parties’ governance strategies, touching upon key issues of economic development, public safety and the future of governance in Delhi.

Prem Shukla, National Spokesperson, BJP, Priyanka Kakkar, National Spokesperson, AAP, and Imran Pratapgarhi, MP, Rajya Sabha, engaged in a thought-provoking discussion, offering diverse perspectives on economic development, urban infrastructure and strategies for addressing Delhi’s pollution challenges.

Former Cabinet Minister and MP, Lok Sabha, Anurag Thakur shared his perspective on economic development and governance efficiency, while Bansuri Swaraj, MP, Lok Sabha, highlighted the key priorities for the constituency, including civic infrastructure and public safety.

Manoj Tiwari, third term MP, Delhi (North-East) Lok Sabha, spoke about the importance of cultural preservation alongside urban development. He said, “The BJP government will bring change through its policies and governance by providing direct monetary assistance like ₹21,000 to pregnant women and ₹10,000 for medical treatment. After winning the Delhi elections, we will continue AAP’s good policies like 200 units of free electricity and free bus rides for women, while ensuring real progress.”

Devendra Yadav, President, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, emphasised employment generation and economic revival, while Congress members, Sandeep Dixit, and Kanhaiya Kumar, provided insights into the long-term urban planning and social welfare policies.

ABP News Shikhar Sammelan fostered an open exchange of ideas, bringing citizens, politicians and experts together to shape a prosperous and equitable future for Delhi. With its dedication to promoting accountability and transparency in governance, ABP News continues to lead by example through initiatives like ‘Shikhar Sammelan’ that empower citizens with knowledge and insights ahead of electoral decisions.
