Ahmedabad Art Festival will be kicked off by Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company at the Footlight Theatres here on Saturday at 7 pm, says danseuse and curator Sanjukta Sinha.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Sanjukta Sinha said, “It is the First Initiative by Sanjukta Sinha to curate an Art Festival outside the virtual world for the audience of Ahmedabad to get an opportunity to witness a lineup of Artists from Delhi, Varanasi, and Ahmedabad. The artists include students of Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company, Jaipur Gharana fame Piyush Chauhan and Preeti Sharma will perform a duet; Vishal Krishna, grandson of Sitradevi ji and Gopi Krishna ji of Banaras; and Ragini Maharaj, granddaughter of Pt Birju Maharaj will mesmerize the audience through their duet performances.”
Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company will also perform their latest production ‘Anant Pravaah’ as a part of the Art Festival. This institute imparts cutting-edge nuances of various dance forms to its 70 students, which were explored by Sinha and also differ from Kathak in mood, movements, and choreography.
On the occasion, Sanjukta Sinha, Artistic Director and Founder of Sanjukta Sinha Dance Company said, “If I could contribute something to the society, it would be passing on the knowledge to the next generation and making Ahmedabad audience witness the best talents across India and abroad.”
Sinha will also conduct a workshop on Sunday.
