Ahmedabad-based start-up, Chalo, on Thursday announced the launch of virus-proof cab service in the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar to win customers in a post-COVID-19 market, says a top official of the company.
“Safety is definitely top of mind for car passengers. Not only are they expecting sanitization and social distancing protocols in place while travelling in hired vehicles. They also want features in their cars to protect their dear and near ones, especially, senior citizens and women family members. Despite the penetration of digital awareness, the gap still exists in our country. To address all these issues, Chalo has introduced India’s first UV (Ultraviolet) sanitized cab service in Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar with special safety features. UV sanitize is Chalo’s in-house technology. And above all, bookings can be made online as well as offline mode,” said Rajat Rathod, Co – Founder, Chalo.
“We are also the India’s first company to introduce SCAN and GO cab service. Right now Chalo cab service is available in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. We are planning to cover Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and other major cities as part of pan Gujarat service this year. Chalo cab service was started in last November with many key features like Easy Interface, SOS – Safety feature, Family Sharing, Business Profile and Unique Reward system. At present, our market share is 5 per cent. We aim to double it in a year,” Rathod added.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Rathod said, “Consumer safety is the first priority for Chalo during this pandemic. To ensure this, UV sanitization of cabs will be done after every trip. This type of service is introduced for the first time in India. Chalo cabs have more than 1000+ Drivers, 15000+ Rider community and have booked more than 25,000 rides in a short span of five months. Chalo offers a first 50% OFF digital ride. On an average daily 25 to 125 people download the Chalo application.”
