Rupani expressed confidence that the development work of local urban authorities-local self-governing bodies will never be stopped due to a lack of funds.

Rupani also highlighted the decision taken by the Government to permit high-rise buildings of more than 70 floors by amending the GDCR in five metro cities of the state.

Expressing the feeling of pride of including 4 cities of the state in the top-10 list of “Swachh Survekshan 2020 Report”, Rupani said that, our Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has taken on hands a massive public movement for cleanliness and spread the mantra of “Swachta tya Prabhuta” (where there is cleanliness there is god) of Mahatma Gandhi. He proudly said that not only Gujarat but the whole nation has adopted this mantra inspired by PM.

Rupani also briefed about the planning made by the state government to provide pure drinking water through tap to 100 percent houses of cities as well as villages of the state before the upcoming Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. He also directed the officials of the corporation to ensure that every household in the Ahmedabad metropolis has access to tap water.

Rupani has also directed the civic officials to purify drainage water through S.T.P with tertiary treatment and reuse it for agriculture, industry, and other development works. As a result, Gujarat will become a water surplus state. Not only that, but the purification of wastewater will also speed up its reuse, but he also added.

Rupani said that Gujarat has proved its best to resolve our Prime Minister’s vision to provide shelter to all by 2022.

Ahmedabad Mayor Bijalben Patel expressed confidence that the development works worth Rs 1,016 crore would improve the living standards of the citizens.

The mayor said, “Under the visionary leadership of CM, Ahmedabad is striving to stand in the ranks of cities of the world by achieving integrated development. Not only that but also Ahmedabad took the top spot in the ‘cleanest megacity’ that has a population of more than 40 lakhs.”
