AHMEDABAD, JUNE 24
Ahmedabad — one of Gujarat’s most aspirational and fast-evolving consumer markets — is fast emerging as a decisive battleground in India’s cooling and smart-appliance race, and Voltas wants a bigger, sharper front-row presence in it. In a move that underscores the city’s growing strategic importance in the home-comfort and white-goods business, Voltas Limited, India’s No. 1 AC company from the house of Tata, on Wednesday inaugurated its first Company-Owned and Company-Operated (COCO) store in Ahmedabad, tightening its direct retail grip in a market shaped by premiumisation, rising disposable incomes, intense summers and rapidly changing household aspirations.
Located at Showroom No. GF-03, Iconic Shyamal, Shyamal Cross Road, Satellite, Ahmedabad – 380015, the new outlet marks Voltas’ first COCO store in Ahmedabad and the sixth such store nationally. The launch is aimed at deepening the company’s direct engagement with consumers in Gujarat, a market it views as central to its next growth phase across both cooling products and home appliances.

The store brings together under one roof an extensive range of Voltas and Voltas Beko products, including air conditioners, air coolers, commercial refrigerators, water dispensers, water coolers, refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and dishwashers. Designed as an immersive, experience-led retail destination, the COCO format gives Voltas complete ownership of the consumer interface — enabling consistent brand experience, deeper product demonstration, better control over merchandising and a stronger after-sales connect.
The new store was inaugurated by Jayant Balan (Head – RAC Business), Jogesh Jaitly (Head – Sales), and Nirpesh Agarwal (CEO, Voltas Beko), along with senior members of the management team, reflecting the strategic importance of Ahmedabad and Gujarat in the company’s retail and product roadmap.
Commenting on the opening of the new COCO store, Mukundan Menon, Managing Director, Voltas Limited, said, “Ahmedabad continues to be an important market for us, driven by growing consumer aspirations and increasing demand for premium and smart home appliances, supported by manufacturing prowess. The opening of our first Company-Owned & Company-Operated store in the city reflects our focus on strengthening direct consumer engagement and enhancing brand experience. Through this store, we aim to offer customers the convenience of experiencing our wide portfolio under one roof along with trusted after-sales service.”
Speaking on the launch, Jayant Balan, Head – RAC Business, Voltas Limited, said, “Ahmedabad is one of the key growth markets for the cooling and home appliances industry, driven by rising consumer aspirations and increasing demand for energy-efficient technologies. The launch of our first COCO store in the city is an important step in strengthening our direct engagement with consumers while showcasing our latest innovations across product categories.
The COCO format allows us to deliver a superior and consistent brand experience, supported by expert guidance, product demonstrations, and robust after-sales service. As we continue to expand our retail footprint across the country, this store will play a pivotal role in enhancing accessibility, strengthening brand visibility, and bringing consumers closer to the trusted Voltas and Voltas Beko portfolio.
As we look at FY27 and beyond, our focus is on accelerating growth across both cooling and home appliances by deepening our presence in high-potential markets and widening consumer access to premium, energy-efficient and intelligent products. Room air conditioners will remain a strong growth driver for Voltas, while categories such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and dishwashers under Voltas Beko are expected to play an increasingly important role in our next phase of expansion as Indian households upgrade to smarter and more convenience-led appliances.
Consumer expectations are evolving rapidly, and over the next 12 months we will continue to strengthen our portfolio with technologies that improve comfort, convenience and energy optimisation. Our latest AI-enabled and smart cooling solutions are already designed around the realities of Indian homes and weather conditions, and going forward the emphasis will be on connected, intuitive and adaptive features that make appliances more responsive, more efficient and easier to use. Across categories, we are looking at innovations that enhance intelligent cooling, optimise power consumption, improve hygiene, simplify controls and support a more seamless home experience.
Climate change is clearly influencing the market. Summers are becoming longer, more intense and less predictable, and that is increasing demand not just in large metros but also in emerging cities and fast-growing regional markets. Consumers are looking for faster cooling, better energy efficiency, higher ambient performance, smarter controls and long-term durability. We are preparing for this shift by expanding our retail reach, strengthening channel availability, investing in innovation and ensuring that our cooling solutions are aligned to the realities of Indian climate conditions and evolving customer expectations.”
The Ahmedabad COCO store has been conceived as a seamless one-stop retail destination where customers can explore Voltas’ latest range of smart and energy-efficient cooling solutions alongside the broader Voltas Beko home-appliance portfolio, with dedicated guidance, product demonstrations and purchase assistance. The format is designed to blend brand experience with convenience and service, while giving customers a closer look at the company’s newest technologies in cooling and connected home appliances.
The launch also comes with a customer-facing retail push. As part of the June inaugural offer, customers visiting the new Ahmedabad store can avail themselves of exclusive launch benefits, attractive finance options and dedicated customer assistance, making the opening period an added draw for homebuyers, appliance upgraders and first-time premium-product customers.
With this launch, Voltas is doing more than adding another retail address in Gujarat. It is building a more controlled, experience-led consumer interface in a city that increasingly mirrors the future of India’s appliance market — one where cooling, connectivity, energy efficiency, service trust and intelligent home solutions are converging to define the next big consumer battle.
