Blending Ahmedabad’s deep-rooted artistic legacy with Surat’s emerging creative energy, a compelling art showcase has transformed Ahmedabad into a vibrant cultural hub this week.
Curated by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Art, Culture and Handicraft Committee, the four-day exhibition at Satya Art Gallery (March 19–22, 2026) is drawing culture connoisseurs into a world where contemporary expression meets traditional inspiration. Set against the intellectual backdrop of Navjivan Trust—closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy—the venue adds a layer of historical resonance to the artistic experience.
With 19 artists presenting over 50 artworks, the exhibition reflects Gujarat’s evolving art narrative—from folk-inspired motifs and modern abstracts to experimental visual storytelling. The diversity mirrors Ahmedabad’s own identity as a UNESCO-recognised heritage city that continues to nurture progressive art movements.
Mentoring this creative confluence are distinguished names—Anuj Ambalal, known for his deep engagement with Indian contemporary art; Vivek Desai, a respected voice in visual culture; and Saurabh Desai, whose lens captures nature’s untamed poetry.
Voices that Shape the Canvas
Swati Sethawala, Chairperson, Art, Culture and Handicraft Committee: “By bringing Surat’s artists to Ahmedabad, we are building a cultural bridge within Gujarat. This platform allows artists to engage with a wider audience and strengthens the state’s artistic ecosystem.”
Anuj Ambalal, Art Curator: “The exhibition reflects a refreshing blend of rootedness and innovation. It is heartening to see young and emerging artists interpreting tradition through contemporary lenses.”
Vivek Desai, Art Curator: “Art thrives on exchange. Ahmedabad’s discerning audience and Surat’s creative voices together create a meaningful dialogue that enriches both cities.”
Saurabh Desai, Wildlife Photographer & Mentor: “Just as nature reveals itself layer by layer, good art invites you to pause and look deeper. This exhibition encourages that quiet, powerful engagement.”
Beyond a mere exhibition, the initiative positions Gujarat as a growing cultural corridor—where cities collaborate, artists connect, and audiences evolve. Visitors can experience this artistic journey daily from 12 noon to 9 pm.
