AHMEDABAD, JUNE 30

Ahmedabad-based strength and conditioning coach Jesal Trivedi (47) on Monday announced he has officially been certified by the Guinness World Records for an exceptional display of strength and stamina—running 50 kilometres carrying a 40-pound backpack in just 8 hours and 50 minutes.

A former Gujarat state heavyweight boxing champion, Jesal transitioned to coaching after suffering a shoulder injury that paused his boxing career but not his determination and discipline to stay fit-NE photo

Trivedi achieved the feat just ahead of the bSafal Marathon held on January 12, 2025, in Ahmedabad. He has now received official recognition from Guinness World Records for establishing a brand-new global record in the endurance category. His application, which was submitted earlier in 2025, was supported by video documentation and certified witnesses, including Chartered Accountants and officials from the Gujarat Police Department.

“This wasn’t just about running with weight—it was about challenging the idea that fitness has an age limit. I wanted to demonstrate that with focused training, discipline, and the right nutrition, it’s possible to achieve peak performance even in your 40s – an age when it is customarily believed that one has health ailments and slows down,” said Jesal.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER: His rigorous preparation for the Guinness attempt spanned 11 months and included a mix of calisthenics, strength -ne PHOTOconditioning, weighted runs, and sports nutrition

A former Gujarat state heavyweight boxing champion, Jesal transitioned to coaching after suffering a shoulder injury that paused his boxing career but not his determination and discipline to stay fit. Over the last decade, he has helped transform the fitness journeys of hundreds by integrating strength and endurance training, an approach he says is essential in combating lifestyle-related health issues.

“Too many people chase body image goals, fall prey to fad diets, and in the process, ignore functional fitness. Through this challenge, I wanted to inspire people to practice sustainable strength and endurance practices. I am humbled with this recognition and I hope it inspires many others to stay fit and healthy, age no bar,” he added.

His rigorous preparation for the Guinness attempt spanned 11 months and included a mix of calisthenics, strength conditioning, weighted runs, and sports nutrition. The certification, he says, is not just a personal victory but a public message: that fitness is not optional—it’s a necessity.

Jesal’s achievement is a quiet reminder that age, gender, or profession are never barriers to setting new standards in fitness and personal health transformation.
