Ahmedabad Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) marked its 52nd Foundation Day, celebrating its extraordinary journey of fostering good corporate governance and compliance across industries here on Sunday.
The grand event held at the Senate Hall, Gujarat University saw the participation of over 600 professionals and students, and was graced by chief guest CA Yamal Vyas, Chairman of the 4th Gujarat State Finance Commission; CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, ICSI; and CS Pawan Chandak, Vice President, ICSI.
Stating that Artificial Intelligence is no match for the human intelligence, CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, ICSI said, “The institute imparts AI and information technology to its members as well as students by conducting short-term courses so that they can keep pace with the evolving times. The company secretaries working in tandem with market regulator SEBI and various ministries of the Central government to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Their expertise and competency in both Direct and Indirect Tax laws makes them valuable in the taxation landscape for timely compliance. The ICSI is striving hard to achieve the Viksit Bharat goal of the government. We are proud to say that ICSI is the only professional body having equal representation of both genders.”
CS Rajesh Tarpara, Central Council Member, said, “Ahmedabad Chapter of the ICSI is scouting for suitable land to house its office and step up its educational activities. We have moved the AUDA (Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority, AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation) and the Gujarat CMO (Chief Minister’s Office) to to offer land at concessional rate. We hope it will materialise soon.”
ICSI to host 4th International Conference in Australia
The ICSI is organising its 4th International Conference, on 3-5 September 2025, in Sydney, Australia, on the theme ‘Embracing Innovation Enhancing Good Governance.’ The Conference is set to bring in opportunities for Learning and Resource enhancement, besides providing a platform to connect with thought leaders, industry pioneers, and prospective investors for networking and business growth.

This is a first of its kind principles, that aligns with the global trend and offers much needed guidance towards sustainable and responsible investing. Outlining best practices for responsible investment, encompassing environmental, social, and governance factors, the IGPS is a framework of ethical stewardship practices empowering Institutional Investors and Service Providers.
Governance and Compliance Standard on PoSH at Workplace
The ICSI developed the standard to provide standardized procedures for Internal Committee meetings, complaint and inquiry processes, and training/ capacity building programs for employees/ Internal Committee members and offers guidance on drafting gender-neutral PoSH policy, promoting inclusivity.

Incorporated to create a conducive ecosystem for de-clogging the courts and providing a speedy justice.
ICSI Start-up and MSME Catalyst
A unique initiative to equip ICSI members with the know-how and acumen required to guide MSMEs and Start-ups.
ICSI Institute of Social Auditors
A section 8 company, formed to strengthen the social audit and impact assessment of the social governance ecosystem in India. The ICSI-ISA is set to develop Standards for Social Audit, register Social Auditors, lay down their standards of professional conduct, and partner with NISM for the development and delivery of Courses on Social Audit.
ICSI Social Audit Standards
Developed by the ICSI and covers all 16 activities enumerated under Regulation 292E(2)(a) of SEBI (ICDR), Regulations 2018, to provide guidance in conducting Social Audit of a Social Enterprise engaged in any of such 16 activities.
Registered Valuer’s Toolkit
Published by the ICSI RVO, the Registered Valuer’s Toolkit is aimed to equip both aspiring and practising Registered Valuers with the essential knowledge, regulatory frameworks, practical tools and ethical guidance for carrying out valuation assignments.
International Commerce Olympiad and ICSI Commerce Olympiad
The ICSI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), Humming Bird Education Limited, International Olympiad Foundation and Silver Zone Foundation for conducting Olympiads in schools across India and create awareness about the Company Secretary Course and Profession among school students.
ICSI Academic Connect
The ICSI introduced Academic Connect initiative to collaborate with various IIMs, IIT (IIT Madras –to provide skill-based course on SWAYAM PLUS platform), National Law University, and Institutions of national repute to impart knowledge and acuminate skills of students, academicians, and professionals.
