Air Commodore Tapan Sharma took over as the Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Tambaram, a ceremonial parade held on Monday. The event was conducted with full grace and military traditions symbolizing the seamless transition of leadership.
Air Cmde Tapan Sharma took over the Command of Air Force Station Tambaram on 27 Jan ‘25. He has over 2500 hrs of flying experience. The Air Commodore was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the flying branch of IAF in December 1997. He is a category A Qualified Flying Instructor, alumni of National Defence Academy and Defence Staff Services College Wellington.
He has more than 2,500 hours of flying experience in various types of aircraft in IAF. In his career spanning 25 years, he has tenanted various appointments which includes command of two front line fighter squadrons and Aircrew Examination Board.
