Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command of the Indian Air Force, conducted an extensive inspection of the operational preparedness of Air Force Station, Avadi, onSaturday.
During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed on the strategic role and diverse tasks performed by the station. He toured key operational sites, sections, and hangars to assess readiness levels and reviewed ongoing maintenance and logistical activities.

Interacting with officers and airmen, Air Marshal Garg emphasized the importance of operational discipline and efficient maintenance practices as the backbone of Air Force preparedness.
“The professionalism, dedication, and technical excellence displayed by the personnel at Avadi truly reflect the ethos of the Indian Air Force. I commend the team for maintaining exceptional standards in logistics, maintenance, administration, and training,” the Air Marshal remarked.
Expressing satisfaction with the station’s performance, he appreciated the collective efforts of all personnel in upholding the proud traditions of the IAF and ensuring mission readiness at all times.
Accompanying him, Ritu Garg, President of the Air Force Family Welfare Association (Regional), interacted with members of AFFWA (Local) and reviewed various welfare initiatives being implemented at the station.
“The strength of the Air Force lies not only in its operational capability but also in the well-being of its families. I encourage all members to stay informed, leverage social media responsibly, and focus on holistic growth — in health, education, and the future of our children,” she said.
Earlier, Air Marshal Garg and Ritu Garg were warmly received by Air Commodore Pradeep Sharma, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Avadi, and Group Captain (Retd) Rachna Sharma, President, Air Force Family Welfare Association (Local).
The visit underscored the IAF’s continued focus on operational excellence, human resource development, and family welfare as integral components of national defence readiness.
