City-based diversified conglomerate Al Zidaan Group on Saturday said it will foray into fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) vertical with natural food products.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Mushiyar Shaikh, Chairman and CEO said the company is seeking to be an engine of growth for Vibrant Gujarat economy through a vibrant portfolio of future-ready businesses.
“As a precursor to our FMCG foray on Monday, we are launching four natural food products – fresh tea, dates, honey and health drinks and plans to capture 25 percent of this market in two years. We will gradually add over 100 food products over a period of two years. Having served over 1.5 lakh loyal customers of our two verticals, Al Manjal Jewellers and Al Deenar Fashions in 22 years, with zero complaints, we will soon launch malls in Gujarat. To accelerate growth in the FMCG businesses, the endeavour is not only to fortify the existing categories towards delivering customer-centric performance but also to branch out from the present four stores.”.
To a query, Shaikh said Al Zidaan will focus on 20 percent organic products to cater to the high-end consumers and the rest will be for the common men.
“A whole range of products are being developed in the natural food products space,” he said.
Shaikh said the target is to be the leader in every segment in which it operates.
“Our aim is to create a unique source of competitive advantage through diversity of the businesses and create new opportunities for growth,” he said.
Shaikh said over 100 products will be launched over a period of two years to strengthen existing categories and enter newer segments.
Reiterating the company’s vision, he said, “Al Zidaan is investing in building state-of-the-art manufacturing and packaging infrastructure to rapidly scale up the FMCG businesses, build an extremely competitive supply chain for the health conscious consumers.”
