As part of its weekly community service, the All India Thalapathy Makkal Iyyakam has felicitated teachers in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Karnataka, and Maharashtra on Sunday, says a release.
According to the release, teachers play an important role in nation-building by creating the achievers in all sectors. Thalapathy Vijay holds them in high esteem as the hands that wield the magic wand of knowledge rules the entire world.
In recognition of their selfless service and dedication to the nation, AITM general secretary and former MLA Bussy N Anand has kickstarted the felicitation ceremony in Namakkal East and West districts in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
The fans have feted teachers of Neelankarai panchayat union school teachers on the outskirts of Chennai and got their blessings, the release added.
This was replicated in all state headquarters, town s to village levels in a grand and befitting manner by the All India Thalapathy Makkal Iyyakam office-bearers and well recived by the teachers, said PRO Riaz Ahmed.
Incidentally, the Iyakkam has more than 10 lakh registered members and the fans association generally does not have any political affiliations.
The outfit carries out social work like running medical camps, setting up water kiosks, and campaigns for civic issues in some pockets of the state.
