Kolkata-based intercity cooked food delivery startup, Charabuni Services Pvt Ltd, on Friday announced the extension of its service in Ahmedabad, the ninth city in the nation, a senior official of the company said.

Led by IT professional Gyan Srivastava, the bootstrapped startup took over five years to stabilize its business model through extensive innovation in packaging and logistics.

  • Anyone can send any food, either home cooked or restaurant food, from the comfort of their home using T2P application in a fast, reliable and affordable way
  • Picked food is packed from one city and shipped to another, ensuring freshness upon delivery within 12 to 24 hours
  • Customers pay an average of Rs 120 per kg plus packaging for orders booked through T2P platform restaurants, and Rs 210 a kg (including packaging) for individually tailored deliveries

Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Gyan Srivastava, CEO, said, “Charabuni Services Pvt Ltd has developed a PLATFORM T2P (tastes2plate) which became India’s Most Trusted Online Intercity Food Delivery Application where it delivers food from one city to another city within 12 to 24 hours in an innovative packaging with Cold Chain Logistics. A Customer can book the service by visiting the website https://tastes2plate.com or by downloading the mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store by typing T2P or tastes2plate.”

With this service, T2P (tastes2plate) is looking to change the dynamics of perishable cooked food delivery from one city to another. The market includes from parents of child staying in different cities, chefs who have customers in other cities but cant capture the foodies due to unavailability of reliable shipping service provider, home food makers who have customers in other cities, persons who are missing special food items from another city restaurants (which is not listed in T2P Platform), family and friends who want to send their delicious food to their beloved ones.

In last 4 plus years of operation, T2P (tastes2plate) has established itself the strongest player in intercity (from one city to another city) perishable Food items delivery. The service is now available in Kolkata, Patna, Lucknow, Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida & Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Amritsar, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Goa and Ahmedabad. Plan is to extend the service in Chennai, Kanpur, Ludhiana and Guwahati in next 30 to 45 days.

“While the total online food delivery business is USD 19.6 billion with a CAGR of 20 per cent, the intercity delivery segment is still nascent but growing exponentially. Currently, we average over 35,000 deliveries per month,” Srivastava, CEO of tastes2plate (T2P) owned by Charabuni Services said.

Picked food is packed from one city and shipped to another, ensuring freshness upon delivery within 12 to 24 hours, the official explained.

Regarding competition, Srivastava claimed, “Currently, one other app operates in this domain, but another dominant online food delivery app is not consistently active in the market. We are the only company focused purely on intercity food delivery.” He claimed that tastes2plate, now operating in about 20 major cities, offers the cheapest overall food delivery cost to customers.

“This was possible only through innovative packaging that meets Indian Institute of Packaging standards,” Srivastava stated.

Customers pay an average of Rs 120 per kg plus packaging for orders booked through T2P platform restaurants, and Rs 210 a kg (including packaging) for individually tailored deliveries.
