Union Home and Cooperatives Minister Amit Shah has won Gandhinagar constituency by over 7.44 lakh votes while Geniben Thakor of the Congress party secured the Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat defeating Rekha Chaudhary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 30,000 votes, according to the latest trends issued by the Election Commission of India.

In Navsari, State BJP chief C R Paatil defeated Naishadh Desai of Congress by 7,73,556 votes with a total of 10,31,070 votes.

In the Porbandar constituency seat, BJP’s Mansukh Mandaviya, who is currently serving as the Health Minister of India, won by a margin of 3,83,360 votes against Lalit Vasoya of Congress.

In Rajkot seat BJP’s Parshottambhai Rupala contested against Congress’ Paresh Dhanani and won with a margin of 4,84,260 votes.

Dabhi Shankar of BJP emerged victorious in the Patan election, surpassing Chandan Thakor of Congress by 31,876 votes with 5,91,947 votes.

In Anand, Mitesh Patel of BJP won the election with a margin of 89,939 votes against Amit Chavda of Congress, garnering 6,12,484 votes.

In Ahmedabad East, Hasmukh Patel of BJP defeated Himmat Patel of Congress by a margin of 4,61,755 votes with a total of 7,70,459 votes.

In Ahmedabad West, Dineshbhai Makwana of BJP was leading with 6,11,704 votes by a margin of 286437 votes over Bharat Makwana of Congress.

In Kheda, Devusinh Chauhan of BJP claimed the seat with a victory margin of 3,57,758 votes over Kalusinh Dabhi of INC, securing 7,44,435 votes.

In Rajkot despite the Rajput row, Parshottam Rupala of BJP won by 4,84,260 votes over Dhanani Paresh of Congress, securing 8,57,984 votes.

In Dahod, Jaswant Bhabhor of BJP defeated Prabhaben Taviyad of Congress by 3,33,677 votes with a total of 6,88,715 votes.

Poonam Maadam of BJP retained Jamnagar, defeating JP Maraviya of Congress by 2,38,008 votes with a total of 6,20,049 votes.

Jashu Rathva of BJP won the Chhota Udaipur seat, surpassing Sukhram Rathwa of Congress by a margin of 3,98,777 votes, securing 796589 votes.

Chudasama Naran of BJP claimed the Junagadh seat with a victory margin of 1,35,494 over Jotva Arjan of Congress, securing 5,84,049 votes.

In Vadodara, Dr. Hemang Joshi of BJP won Padhiyar Mahendra of Congress by 5,82,126 votes, with a total of 8,73,189 votes.

In Kachchh , Vinod Chavda of BJP was declared the winner, securing 6,59,574 votes and surpassing Nitesh Lalan of Congress by 2,68,782 votes.

In Mahesana, Haribhai Patel of BJP handed defeat to Ramji Thakor of Congress, with 6,86,406 votes and by a margin of 3,28,046 votes.

Aam Aadmi Party draws blank

In Bhavnagar, Nimuben Bambhaniya of BJP handed defeat to Umesh Makwana of AAP with a total of 7,16,883 votes, a margin of 4,55,289 votes.

Mansukh Vasava of BJP won the Bharuch seat, defeating Chaitar Vasava of AAP by 85,696 votes, securing a total of 6,08,157 votes.

Political analysts attribute Thakor’s victory to her strong grassroots connection and the significant support she received from the influential Thakor community, which has a substantial presence in Banaskantha.

The result for the Surat constituency seat has already been declared as the BJP’s candidate has won it unopposed. However, the main opposition Congress has challenged it before the Gujarat High Court.

According to Senior advocate Iyer;s social media post, the action of the returning officer of Surat constituency is against the law and illegal.

The Congress had not won any seats in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, in 2009, the Congress had won 11 out of 26 seats in Gujarat, while the BJP secured 14.
